The Columbia Albums (1969-1974)

Barbara's first major recording contract was with Columbia Records under the production of Billy Sherrill, famous for his work with stars such as Tammy Wynette and George Jones. Barbara recorded three albums for Columbia. Three compilation albums on the Columbia label were released after Barbara left the label in 1974. When Barbara's popularity soared during the 1980s, CBS Special Products released several compilations of Barbara's old material. Many times these releases would have exactly the same songs, or mostly the same songs.
