The
MCA Albums (1979-1986) Barbara's greatest
recording success came during her years with MCA
Records, which bought her previous label,
ABC/Dot. Barbara released more than 20 top-20
country records on MCA. She had two gold albums
on MCA -- "Barbara Mandrell Live" and
"The Best of Barbara Mandrell"
(previously released on ABC Records). She also
released a gold single on MCA -- "I Was
Country When Country Wasn't Cool." She won
just about every music award a performer could
win during this time.
